On the Phone

My father called me today at work because he was concerned about PayPal keeping his money. I explained to him that it has only been two days, and one of them was a holiday[--]his holiday. I had forgotten that.

At a lull in the conversation, he brought up football. His Bears are doing well. He stands to win money. It's always about that.

I tell him that it's no surprise that the Arizona Cardinals are sucking wind this year. I said that they lost the first round draft pick, early on.

He says they lost Tillman. I have no idea what that has to do with anything.

I told him that I had to have a little love in my heart for the Cardinals because I had their entire coaching staff in a room with me.

He says he hopes it wasn't a hotel room.

I laugh and say, "Nooo...it was a conference room, and I was teaching them how to use their new phones. But I was the only girl in the room."

He quips, "What could be better than that?!"

I say, "A hotel room?"

He laughs and says, "You are definitely my daughter."

That's my dad.
