Firm, but yielding

Today has been a much better day for me. I still feel the sting of the injustice of fate in making me look like this, while I think like this. It is God's practical joke to put the mind that I have into this body, which, in essence, keeps people from giving me a chance to share it. Sick sense of humor.

This is a life-long lament of mine. No point in getting into it, now.

I started getting recruiter calls and emails again. All junk, so far, but it's better than nothing. Rasputin is a genius for telling me to update my posted resume. It's so simple, but it worked. Maybe my dream job will come along. Who knows?

I put my personal ad back out there. I didn't change a thing. Unfortunately, the guys in my search haven't really changed, either. Same dudes, warts and all. The guy that I was talking to before, that was only looking for something to poke, ended up taking his ad offline. Or he blocked me. Either way, his ad is not there, now. Maybe he decided to stick to hookers.

That one was a shame. He was intelligent and fairly cute, aside from the shortness. Once again, God does not make complete packages that often. Rasputin is the one of the only ones I know who is both smart and traditionally attractive. I actually have a hard time figuring out which he got less of: looks or brains.

D is extremely intelligent, and very attractive, to me, but I can see how his look wouldn't work for everyone. I know him, though. I know where the attraction comes from. But he's not street-ready, if you get me. Doo-dah is gorgeous. He's all-American hunky and the sort of cute that is recognized by the general populace, but he's dumb as a stump. The pretty wears off as soon as he starts talking to you. He's like a big, dumb animal. Iceman is another one those rare combos. I try to recall whether I found him attractive before I knew he was brilliant, but I don't remember. In fairness, I probably knew he was smart, first.

I talked to my best friend about my moving away plan. Apparently, that's not such a good plan. I seem to have forgotten the universal adaptation of Newton's Third Law of Motion, which states:

Newton's Third Law of Motion
(as stated by Newton)

To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction; or, the mutual actions of two bodies upon each other are always equal, and directed to contrary parts.
