It's Back! It's Back!
Look what I saw yesterday! My first decent shot of one of the Western Scrub Jays that hang around my house. This one hid in the bramble of withered grape vines and tree branches for about twenty minutes while I stood a couple of feet away, trying to coax her out. I think it was worth it.
Your humble author dodged a major bullet, and I thank the technology gods, NewEgg, Demonoid, and Yahoo Answers for their role in saving my sanity.
I received the Fantom Titanium 120 GB 7200 RPM external drive I ordered from NewEgg, yesterday afternoon.
I took an image of the broken drive using the GetDataBack software that I heard about on Yahoo Answers. I had originally downloaded a cracked version from Demonoid, but the crack didn't work, so KJ paid for the license for me.
I scanned the image for recovery using the software.
Boom! I got my photos back! I recovered some of the mp3 files and whatnot, as well. I'll test those today.
Now, I'm going to make a back-up of the image, and the software to read it, with a copy of the license keys. I'll be damned if I'm going to lose this stuff again.
