It seems so science fictional. If they start doing crazy shit in unison, losing all of their teeth (if you notice), or growing to 50 feet in height, you know why.

I wonder how much of the spread of the illness is due to hysteria.

Icky space dust and formerly frozen gasses would have to hit a place where scientists aren't giong to be able to observe it.
